GROUP OF VOLUNTEERS

Through the efforts of dedicated staff and a fantastic group of volunteers and foster homes, Project Pet has found thousands of animals their forever homes. Here are just a few of the happy "tails" we love sharing with you.

SUCCESS STORY
Moose is fantastic! He is such a joy to have in the house! I could not ask for a better cat - he seemed to adjust to our other two cats quickly, and he did not have a loss of appetite or anything. He is just curious and a bit clumsy : ) But he is very loving. Thank you for rescuing him so I could have such a wonderful pet.
BAD ECONOMY FOR YOU. DEATH FOR HIM.

The state of homeless pets in the Richland and Lexington counties is nothing short of tragic. And we desperately need your help.

We have to leave behind 53 dogs and cats to be killed in Midlands area shelters every single day. <The facts are hard to face, but it’s time we stand up and address them.

FACT: Each year in Richland and Lexington Counties over 23,000 dogs and cats enter municipal shelters.

FACT: Each year over 19,500 of these same pets are euthanized due to lack of space and resources.

FACT: Two-thirds of the dogs and cats euthanized are pets—healthy, happy and ready for a new home and 30% of those animals are purebreds.

FACT: A dog or cat picked up by animal control has 5 days to live.

FACT: A pet that is surrendered to a municipal shelter by its owner is euthanized the same day.

FACT: $2.5 million taxpayer dollars are spent each year to pick-up, house, and euthanize these pets.

If you commit just $25 each month - less than $1 per day - you will be helping us save more lives this year. When you think about it, your $25 is life! We cannot do this work alone. Expenses are on the rise and resources are at an all time low. We need your help to help them. <
